Election Judges Needed in Primary and General Elections

McLean County has two election authorities. The McLean County Clerk’s Office handles all elections for the county except the City of Bloomington. Voting in the City of Bloomington is conducted by the Bloomington Election Commission.

Terry Luce from the Bloomington Election Commission has just contacted the MCGOP, asking us to put out an alert that Republican election judges are urgently needed. Judges manage the election at the precinct level. It’s a great way to support our election process and can be a lot of fun. Here is the Bloomington Election Commission website, where you can find detailed information.

Kathy Michael, McLean County Clerk’s Office, also seeks Republican election judges. The pay for their long day is $220. If they work outside their home precinct, they are reimbursed for mileage. The sign-up form and detailed information can be found on the Clerk’s Office website. They do offer online training.

If you can assist, please contact either the Bloomington Election Commission or the McLean County Clerk’s Office through the links above.

Office Volunteer Positions

The MCGOP needs volunteers to fill four (4) open positions:

  • An Office Manager is needed to supervise the MCGOP Headquarters in Bloomington. The office manager would ensure the volunteers are scheduled, ensure that volunteers have work to do, and that the office is clean and well organized. The office is currently open two hours per week, but we seek to increase open hours as the November general election approaches. Time commitment is approximately 5-10 hours per week.

  • An Events Coordinator is needed to work with office staff to plan and coordinate public events such as open houses, receptions, and days at the ballpark. Time commitment will vary by month and depend on the number of events.

  • A Volunteer Coordinator is needed to recruit volunteers for things like parades, the office, and the registration desk at events using our communications network and SignUpGenius. This coordinator would follow up with people who contact our office wanting to volunteer. Time commitment will probably be 2-4 hours per week.

  • A Restore Shop Manager is needed to purchase and maintain inventory for our Restore Shop, manage the shop’s presence at public events, and supervise volunteers who work our shop at events where we distribute items in exchange for donations.

If you want to learn more about any of these positions, please get in touch with Joanne Knipmeyer here.
