TO VOTE IN ILLINOIS:
- You must be a United States Citizen.
- You must be at least 17 years old on or before the date of the Primary Election and turn 18 on or before the date of the General or Consolidated Election (16 year olds may preregister to vote).
- You must live in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.
- You must not be serving a sentence of confinement in any penal institution as a result of a conviction.
- You may not claim the right to vote anywhere else.

REGISTERING IN PERSON: McLean County Election Authorities – Since 1914, McLean County has had two election authorities. The McLean County Clerk’s Office handles all elections for the county EXCEPT the City of Bloomington.

Early Voting Starts September 26 – Early voting for the November 5, 2024, General Election begins Thursday, September 26, at the Government Center and Eastland Mall. Additional Early Voting information, including hours and locations, can be found on the Early Voting web page.
Voting by Mail – Voting by mail is an option for voters to cast their ballot before Election Day. Voters may request a vote by mail ballot through the mail or in person. The first day to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot with the Election Authority is 8/7/2024. All requests by mail must be received by the Election Authority by 10/31/2024.
