Republicans Present Four Awards at Annual Dinner

The McLean County Republicans presented four awards to party members at last night's Lincoln-Reagan Dinner (September 10). Each was recognized for meritorious service. Inaugural awards were presented as follows:

Jerry Klinkner of Normal was recognized with the LEGACY AWARD. This award is given to an individual who served our community over many years and represented the Republican Party with great distinction. The recipient has had an impact on the McLean County Republican Party that deserves recognition.
 
Chelsie Leffelman of Bellflower was recognized with the FREEDOM AWARD. This award is given to a valued Republican who has worked long and hard to promote the Republican Party's ideals and has demonstrated courage in standing up for those ideals.
 
Kim Miller of Altana was recognized with the PRECINCT COMMITTEEPERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD. This award is given to a precinct committeeperson who has excelled in serving both precinct and party. The recipient has attended multiple training sessions, met precinct goals, and worked hard at staying in touch with voters in their precinct.
 
Carl Wenning of Normal was named MCGOP REPUBLICAN OF THE YEAR. This award is given to an individual who has raised money for our county GOP, recruited volunteers, and worked to help candidates be elected over an extended period. This recipient has served specifically for the McLean County Republican Party. The accompanying photograph shows Wenning alongside Kathy Salvi, Chair of the Illinois Republican Party.
