Election Judges Needed in Primary and General Elections

McLean County has two election authorities. The McLean County Clerk’s Office handles all elections for the county except the City of Bloomington. Voting in the City of Bloomington is conducted by the Bloomington Election Commission.

Terry Luce from the Bloomington Election Commission has just contacted the MCGOP, asking us to put out an alert that Republican election judges are urgently needed. Judges manage the election at the precinct level. It’s a great way to support our election process and can be a lot of fun. Here is the Bloomington Election Commission website, where you can find detailed information.

Kathy Michael, McLean County Clerk’s Office, also seeks Republican election judges. The pay for their long day is $220. If they work outside their home precinct, they are reimbursed for mileage. The sign-up form and detailed information can be found on the Clerk’s Office website. They do offer online training.

If you can assist, please contact either the Bloomington Election Commission or the McLean County Clerk’s Office through the links above.

Office & Event Volunteer Positions

Volunteers Needed for the Autumn Campaign – The MCGOP needs volunteers to fill several open positions associated with office and events management. Thank you for considering one or more of these opportunities. Volunteers are vital to the success of the MCGOP!

✓ An Office Manager is required to supervise the MCGOP Headquarters in Bloomington. The office manager ensures that volunteers are scheduled, have work to do, and that the office is clean and well-organized. Once we enter the active campaign season, the time commitment is approximately 5-10 hours weekly.

Office Assistants are needed to staff the MCGOP headquarters, distribute campaign literature and yard signs, answer generic questions, and complete minor duties such as folding and stuffing envelopes. The time commitment is approximately 2 hours per week.

✓ A Volunteer Coordinator is needed to recruit volunteers for things like parades, the office, and the registration desk at events using our communications network and SignUpGenius software. This coordinator would follow up with people who contact our office wanting to volunteer. Time commitment will probably be 2-4 hours per week.

✓ A Restore Shop Manager is needed to purchase and maintain inventory for our Restore Shop, manage the shop’s presence at public events, and supervise volunteers who work our shop at events where we distribute items in exchange for donations. Time commitment will probably be 2-4 hours per week.

✓ An Events Coordinator is needed to manage public events for the MCGOP. This typically includes managing registration, assisting with event speakers, coordinating services, and arranging for things usually part of simple campaign events. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these positions, please go to our SignUpGenius website, state the nature of your interest, and provide your contact information. We will contact you shortly after that.

If you would like to learn more about any of these positions, please get in touch with our MCGOP Communications Manager.
