We provide information regarding various legislative bills in Springfield to encourage voters to make their views known to our elected representatives.  There are various methods: phone calls, emails and text messages do help.  Filing "Witness Slips" with the General Assemble are very effective in quickly registering your support or opposition to various bills.  We rely on two sources for information about bills on the rise.  The Illinois PAC of the Conservative Union and the Illinois Family Institute both provide good resources to keep up with what is happening with bills in Springfield. Below you will find whatever bills underconsideration that need your input along with easy to use links to file witness slips.  

 

                               
 

Filing a Witness Slip in support or opposition of certain legislative bills in Springfield is a simple way to be involved and have an impact in how voting goes in our legislative halls.

Use a link provided for a specific bill or you can go to Illinois General Assembly web site  https://www.ilga.gov/ .  There you can enter and select a house bill number such as HB2827 and look for the file witness slip tab.

One on that page you can use the following guidelines for completion.

In any field where the system requires text be submitted, such as Firm/Business or Title, type in “self”.

Section I. Enter your name, address, city and zip code. (Do not use punctuation.)

 

Section II. Leave it blank if you are not a representative of a group or business.

 

Section III. Check your position as Opponent or Proponent, depending on the bill.

 

Section IV. Unless you are filing a written statement, select Record of Appearance Only.

 

Lastly, agree to the terms of agreement by checking the box.

 

Click Create (Slip).
