The Man in the Arena

It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.

Now more than ever, we need people to engage in Illinois grassroots politics.  That can take many forms, such as volunteering at your local GOP or working on a campaign for someone running for office.  You may, in fact, be that person who is deciding to run for elected office.  A common concern with many who opt to get involved with politics is to worry about not having the qualifications or the experience to become politically involved.  Let me tell you the only qualifications you really need are to care and to commit to the need for change.  That’s it.  


If confidence and knowledge is a concern, here is an opportunity to greatly assist those who are contemplating a run for office and those who work behind the scenes to get a candidate successfully elected. 

On Saturday, August 12th, 2023, the Tazewell County Republican Party and the Peoria County Republican Party are hosting the esteemed Leadership Institute for a valuable day-long seminar on Campaign Management and Getting out the Vote!  The cost is minimal; only $25.  That includes lunch and expert instruction from two of Leadership Institute's premier presenters, Angela and Chris Faulkner.  They will share their vast knowledge and political experience with you as they show you what effective and successful campaigns do. At the seminar, you will learn about the following:

  • Strategic Research
  • Developing a Campaign Plan
  • Finance Planning and Budgeting
  • Understanding Voters
  • Voter ID and Targeting
  • Much More

If not now, then when?  If not you, then who?  It is easy to sit back and let someone else worry about the future, but that isn’t who true conservatives are.  Join us at the Leadership Institute Seminar and take that step to make Illinois a much better place for all of us.
