Consolidated Candidates to Avoid

Candidates to Avoid

To learn about candidates you can support go to the Election Information Page

Our mission includes educating voters and combating the "false" advertising of candidates. The Consolidated elections are established as non-partisan with the exception of the township elections, however the Democrat party came out very early with their selections for the non-partisan various offices.

The practice of Democrats when they are in election mode is to present themselves falsely to the general voter as moderate and reasonable in their approach to governing. An overriding concern about the current slate of Democrat candidates is their support of fighting the removal of criminal illegal aliens and working on goals of social engineering rather than provision of the basic needs of our community- safety, roads, water, trash, infrastructure.  These are the people who support our current Democrat leadership in Springfield which is destroying our state.

We have several far-left progressive candidates running for office.  Their voting record reveals their hardline Democrat standing.

These candidates are also a small group of individuals related to one another on multiple levels and serving on the county board too.  Concentrating a lot of decision making in the hands of a small elite group does not bode well for our communities.

Here are the ones in contested races where you do have a choice how to cast your vote.

Running for Bloomington Mayor

Cody Hendricks. His past voting record places him as a hard core Democrat with very liberal leanings. He previously served on the Bloomington City Council where his votes confirm his beliefs.

Mboka Mwilambwe  has sided on far left policies while serving as the current mayor.  His voting record places him as a hard Democrat.

Running for Normal Mayor

Chris Koos- the current mayor has a long track record of far left policies and very poor transparency for those policies and actions. He is a far-left Democrat.

Chemberly Harris- serves currently as Normal city council member and also has a track record of supporting far left policies and a voting record as a hard Democrat.

Running for Normal Township- a partisan race

Supervisor: Krystal Able- has identified as a Democrat Socialist multiple times, has personal financial issues with past due bills with public utilities requiring a forced payment plan as recent as November. These are backed by public records. Should someone who fails to manage her personal finances be responsible for all of Normal?  Able currently serves as a County Board member for District 4 where she ran unopposed.  She has not made it clear if she will resign from the county seat if she wins or attempt to serve both at the same time. Where would her focus be if she were to win?

Krystle says she is the Executive Director of a Illinois Alliance for Retired Americans. This is from ProPublica which publishes tax returns on non-profits:

This group had Revenue of only $65,677 in 2023 and spent $131,000. At the end of 2023 they had Assets of $23.2K and Liabilities of $28.7K.

Note they are not only UNDER WATER for spending more than they took in, those numbers are in Thousands. Normal Township spends MILLIONS.

In August of 2022, McLean County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 176 President Cory Wills strongly opposed Able's seating on the County Board at the August 10 meeting. Wills said that Able would “cause great division within the community,” according to the records of the meeting.  Wills cited several of Able’s social media posts which advocated the defunding of police and elimination of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  This statement is part of the minutes of the Normal City Council.

Normal Township Democrat Candidates

In addition to Krystal Able above, Dayna Schickedanz, running for reelection as Clerk, and Trustee candidates Nayoka Griffis, Dylan Hile-Broad, Tanner Starr and Natasha Syed.  Dayna Schickedanz has a very poor attendance record for her job.  The other Democrat candidates are aligned with Krystal Able and have no work experience that would serve them as Township Trustees.

Running for Bloomington City Council- non partisan

Ward 9: Abby Scott- married to far-left progressive Corey Beirne who serves on the McLean County Board.  In 2020 she and her husband participated in organized protests against the police in Bloomington. In 2023 she supported raising school taxes. She and her husband align with Black Lives Matter and extreme LGBQT issues as noted on social media.  On social media she has referred to President Trump as a Nazi and racist.  The question is raised about whose influence would be felt where? Can there be a conflict between a city representation and a county in the same household?

Ward 1 Jenna Kerns- She currently serves on the city council.  She ran unopposed in the last election. She marks her city service by refusing to say the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of each meeting. This is documented in city video records.   She recently voted to block the Public Safety and Community Relations Review Board from meeting until youth are found to serve on the board.  She supported one teen that publicly stated an anti-police bias to be placed on the board. The board still has not been able to hold meetings.

These candidates appear as caring individuals but extending the role of government and finding others to pay for that underlies their ideology. Social engineering and increasing government oversight is the cornerstone of the far-left progressive Democrat today. We see the impact of that all over the state as rising taxes, decreasing jobs, increasing regulation, and a failing economy marks Illinois. As Republicans we do not believe it is for the best interest of our citizens to elect officials who embrace that ideology.

Can this slate of candidates relate to the senior citizens that the Normal Township serves?  Not much depth of experience here.
